2.3. The Aether Motor and the years of Gene's demos (2000-2004)
Since our meeting in Denver, in 1996, Gene had been interested in the PAGD-driven
energy converter. Our correspondence at that time was mostly through snail-mail - and
it warms our hearts reading it. Down below we will dedicate a section to this part of
our relationship and its early years. Gene's enthusiasm to know, to understand, to test
our plasma technology, and to seek sponsorship for it, comes across those letters like
limpid water. From 1997 to 1999, Gene made constant efforts, through Cold Fusion
Associates and Cold Fusion Technologies Inc (CFTI), to find financial support for the
commercialization of the PAGD Converter and Inverter technologies. A cycle of hope
and disappointement was replayed with each of these prospective sponsors, whether the
contact had gone through us, Gene or any of our other friends similarly engaged in this
quest (like Uri, Rui, Malgosia). In December 1999, Mike Carrell, who at the time worked for
Infinite Energy, came to visit us to
witness
an open-box PAGD demonstration. Out of consideration
for Carrell, we also graced him with a demonstration of the early stages of the Aether
Motor. It was during the following Summer that Gene first came to visit us - right after he
had fired Kooistra and Hawkins Kirk and had asked for Carrell's resignation.
For the next four years, he would come often to visit us, witness new bench
apparatuses, discuss science and business until the early hours of the morning. We were
in a time of great effervescence at ABRI and Akronos - with a number of research lines
under increasing pressure of completion and new experimental observations being made
frequently. What ushered in the last of the deep changes in our relationship with Gene
was the work he witnessed at our laboratory during these years - the many different
bench devices, the measurement instrumentation, its careful employment, the unending
demonstrations of so-many different devices: the PAGD converter, the PAGD inverter,
the Aether Motor, the silent Tesla motor (something we kept strictly under wraps, but
did manage to briefly demonstrate on separate occasions to Charles Entenmann and
John Thompson in 2001, and to Steven Greer and Ted Loder in 2002), the
HYBORAC/Stirling engine, the 'Reich-Einstein experiment' devices, the ground-
battery charger, the biophysical field-and-contact meter, the Aetheroscope, the
antigravitational weight-neutralizer, the geomagnetic wheel, to name the most
important. He would rarely visit without us repeating some of the previous demos and
showing him something new or improved. His happiness, his joy in learning that there
is this entire continent of unexplored and misunderstood physical phenomena, was such
a delight to us - we can hardly describe it.
The first demonstrations he had of the PAGD and the Aether Motor took place on
August 26-28th, 2000. Gene came to visit with his mind full of technical, scientific and
business ideas:

I will be approaching everything with an open but skeptical mind, very mindful of all the disasters and reversals that have come before in this strange field of exotic physics. Based on what you have to tell me, I will do my best to persuade you of what I think can and should be done in the matter of disclosures (and funding!) for the best outcome for us all.

Then, on the second day, an even stronger shock or realization came over Gene, as he
observed and played with the Aether/Orgone Motor - seeing how it could be driven
from an ORAC, from an antenna, from the ground, from living beings. There, right
before his eyes, was the vindication of both Nikola Tesla and Wilhelm Reich. Aether
energy is not Zero Point Energy or Space Energy. It is neither electromagnetic nor a
liquid that fills an abstract form, an empty space. Those who use these notions really
do not know what they are talking about. Aether energy is massfree energy, and this
massfree energy is what generates Space as much as Time, what generates Matter, the
gravitons, all blackbody photons, in fact what generates, in the last analysis, the entirety
of physical reality; and it is also an integral part of the process of all living systems.
The Aether is not composed of Matter, or material particles; it is massfree. It is Matter
and all of its kinetic states which constitute specific states of conserved massfree
energy. The Aether is not the ZPE, because the Aether is not electromagnetic and it is
the Aether which generates the ZPE. Gene knew then that what he had been learning
since the mid-nineties about anomalous arc-cathode reaction forces, about the non-
electromagnetic properties of Tesla radiation, about the non-inertial characteristics of
massfree energy, about the existence of two electricities - one massfree and the other
massbound - and about the biophysical properties of this energy and its manifestations,
was real and substantive. So he also came to the realization that Cold Fusion was not
going to be the last frontier in the search for alternative energy sources - that massfree
energy could be tapped by electrodynamic, gravitational or thermal means - and that an
explanation of Cold Fusion, let alone its practical mastery, would not be forthcoming
until it was fully understood how massfree energy interacts with the massbound
particles, the leptons and baryons of the world of Matter; until, in one word, the study
of Aetherometry will be taken up seriously. And in a very real sense he saw in the
Aether Motor not just the vindication of Tesla and Reich, but also his own. He often
referred to it as his 'moment of epiphany', in that he knew then that the Second Law of
physics could effectively be violated for an operationally closed system. As
Aetherometry claims - for a real physical science the First Law should suffice plenty.
Both PAGD and the Aether Motor demonstrated this reality - that operationally
closed systems can, under appropriate resonant conditions, function like open systems
and be made to increase their internal energy autonomously.
In the morning before leaving, Gene would compose a long letter to us:
28 August 2000 Dear Paulo and Alexandra, I am beginning this letter on the morning of 28 August (Monday), after our discussions and activities of the last day and a half, which included: an overview tour of your most impressive labs, review of significant introductory aetherometric papers for your proposed web zine, exercising of the PAGD apparatus, demonstration of an apparently clear anti-gravity effect, discussions of the performance characteristics of the new motor and its possible extension into demonstration devices, and discussions of possible funding sources and publicity validation approaches to further your efforts and proposals.
Of all the laboratories I have visited over the past 11+ years, yours has been by far the most impressive
and worthy of significant funding. I am deeply, deeply appreciative that you have given me this
cherished opportunity to learn about your experiments and theories at a level that few, if any, outsiders
previously have had. You are doing absolutely brilliant work which deserves the most rigorous
verification and ultimate acceptance by the scientific/technological community. Whatever transpires from
now on, let me assure you that I will be working on as many fronts as your parameters will allow to
further your most exceptionally worthy research and technology. When you win big (and you will), we
will win big too, even without one penny of equity remuneration to reward my funding search efforts on
your behalf. I ask no compensation whatsoever for these efforts, only that you will keep an open mind,
as I know you are trying to do, about my recommendations and proposals.
(...) What I would tell these individuals is the following: I have visited your laboratory and have satisfied myself in a preliminary way that the PAGD device was as-advertised (the high output/input ratio pulses) and ready for immediate on-site verification by a serious investment party. I saw a demonstration of an over-unity motor(s), apparently powered by ambient-space energy, which could in fairly short order (several months) be brought to a completely self-sustaining, 5-10 watt continuous work-producing condition, albeit with an observably, non-draining battery in the loop. Patents are filed on it. I have witnessed an indisputable, easily verified anti-gravity demonstration at greater than 50% weight cancellation. I had a chance to do a preliminary review of easily repeatable experiments and data (involving temperature and charge) and associated theories that are said to support the underlying mechanisms in the motors, anti-gravity, and PAGD operation. That this information, some 20 compendious articles, is going to be introduced via www publication within the next few months.
I was shown general and specific business plans to further this research. Investment opportunities exist
in the several hundred thousand dollar to multi-million dollar level.
(...) Warmest wishes,
Eugene Mallove, SC.D
September 1, 2000 Dear Paulo and Alexandra
This communication follows my visit to Labofex on August 25-27, 2000, in which I witnessed and began
to understand some rather astounding experiments and theories. That was a transformative experience
and I shall always remember it with greatest fondness. I prepared a letter with preliminary proposals on
August 28th, when I was there but before I had been shown the remarable motor demonstrations, etc.
Also, I have had time to reconsider matters and extend my suggestions. As I told you, this will be but
the first of what I hope will be a continuing stream of communication from me on your efforts. Whether
you expected this or not, from now on I remain your de facto advisor!
(...)
By two days after I had returned from Labofex, I had briefed the following individuals about what I had
seen and heard, per the agreed guidelines of my letter of August 28th: Dr. Dan Cavicchio, Charles
Entenmann, John Thompson, and Steve O'Donnel. All were brimming with enthusiasm and wonder,
which of course did not surprise me. They all stated that they are ready to receive from you a one day
series of demonstations and discussions of science, business plans, and investment prospects. They will
all come in one group. My belief is that this group of individuals and I hold one major key to acquiring
a significant portion of your requested funding. I cannot possibly imagine that they would not be
interested in pursuing investment at significant levels. Whether all terms would be initially agreeable is
to be seen.
(...)
So, on the last day of that August visit he asked us both for a favour. He said he had
hesitated in asking it because we would likely deny it. But as a special favour to him,
would we let him invite his two sponsors with no strings attached, that is, even if they
were to show no interest in doing business with us or sponsoring us on the terms of our
business offers.
For Gene, we agreed to it. He called it 'his gift'.
Before he could exercise his gift, he returned to Canada (Oct. 2000) to pursue, with
two other of our closest friends, another interested investor. After a day spent in
Sherbrooke that appeared to be most promising, it turned out that Gene's contact and
supposed friend was stringing us all along, and the prospective sponsor was but a Play-
Boy, even if connected to a wealthy family that owns part of the Toronto Globe &
Mail. But Gene had not lost 'his gift' from sight, and so invited O'Donnell and Charles
Entenmann to attend a set of demonstrations. This was after we sent him our report on
the reproduction of the Reich-Einstein experiment - and before the IE#37 issue carrying
it came out:
Subject: Received package Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2001 18:17:49 -0400 From: Eugene F. Mallove To: Paulo and Alexandra Correa Dear Paulo and Alexandra, I received your MOST EXCELLENT article today. Thank you, thank you, thank you -- from the bottom of my "aetheric soul" (or whatever it is or isn't)! We will publish it in the next issue of IE (#37) -- a VERY deep honor for me/us. This issue will be out in mid-May, if my calendar is right. Issue #36 will be out this week. I will have some very minor suggestions/questions/comments to improve the article-- essentially zero work for you. Don't worry -- ALL the political stuff I agree with 100%. I am speaking of technical details and clarifications. I very much look forward to our visit on March 30th. Charles and Alf will be there. I have extended an invitation to Steve O. via mail. We shall see what he has to say. My Air Canada flight (#1997) from Manchester, NH gets in at 8:15 pm on March 29th. I depart on March 31 (#1994), at 9:15 a.m. I understand that Charles and Alf will be arriving on the 29th too. There is no need for us all to get together on the 29th. In fact spending some private time with them before our visit would be useful for me (for discussions of our own activities, which I will separately enlighten you about if you wish). In my Editorial in issue #37, I will wish to refer to your forthcoming "other publication" in as open a way as possible. Anything I can learn that would be possible to publicize would be appreciated and, I am sure, would draw attention to your seminal work. On my visit, or before, we can discuss this. All good wishes, dear friends, Gene
Gene really wanted his main sponsor to invest in any and all of our technologies,
including the much discussed educational and publishing efforts. Charles Entenmann
was basically stunned and at a loss for explanation when confronted with the Aether
Motor. Had he seen the innards of that system, as Gene did sometime later, he would
have been even more beffudled. Charles was willing to consider investing in the
PAGD, but adamant that he could not raise the required capital (15M$). At some other
time we might tell that part of the story, a part that greatly saddened Gene in light of
his high hopes for enthusiasm and support coming from his own sponsors. It was, in
part, in anticipation of the possible failure of these hopes, that we had acquiesced to his
no-strings request - and, that, just as well, we did not press the issue with Charles until
years later, on another matter, that of Cold Fusion itself.
Gene's conclusions from the meeting and the demos were, however, most enlightening
and upbeat. He sent us an elegant and most discerning
testimonial letter describing his
two experiences at our laboratory and he remained
confident that he would bring Charles back into the picture.

They are both brilliant articles, very penetrating critiques, and have been accepted. They very much
outshine some of the other Einstein critiques which will be in the two IE issues (#38 and #39) after this
#37 one is out in late May. I hope to hear from you a more precise time for the uploading of your materials. Also a request to be able to study them as soon as possible myself.
Back in 2001, the next point of attack which we devised together was a thrust at
Relativity, Special and General, which took the form of IE#s 38 and 39. We had sent
him two papers (available here and here) on the grave epistemological doubts we had concerning both Special
and General Relativity, and which had been extracted from our first volume of the
Aetherometric Theory of Synchronicity" (under the rubric of 'XXth century Aether
Wars') at his request (we shall return to this subject in a later section). Now, in
preparation for the launching of our publication efforts, Gene read and re-read the
entirety of the projected volumes of Experimental Aetherometry. He literally devoured
the material, coming back with lists of questions, suggested corrections and alterations.
In July 2001, together with Malgosia, Gene and Uri - and some dedicated helpers - we
launched the Akronos Publishing website at aetherometry.com. It was one of the most
joyful collective experiences of incessant collaboration we had all gone through. We
had initiated our own combat by putting basic science forward, first and foremost.
Reich was being experimentally vindicated. And, at the same time, in both IE and the
Akronos website, Einstein's theories were being questioned from viewpoints that no
physicist had dared to articulate before. Relativity in any form was being treated for
what it was: a mystification. With respect to IE's publishing policy, Gene, of course,
wanted to see Aetherometry on the forefront, but the field to be eclectic; he wanted to
show that, over the years, excellent criticisms of Relativity had been put forth and that
there was a community of dissidents (his expression) - but that these criticisms
condensed in the basic Aetherometric critique of Relativity and the new functions it
proposed for a true physics of energy.
We knew that the eclecticism posed all sorts of risks. We trusted Gene's reviewing
abilities, but we knew that there was an inherent risk of seeing Aetherometry abused to
prove supposed viewpoints, findings or inventions that had no merit. This would
indeed come to pass, and is still passing to this day. And in the next few years Gene
would come to realize that those eclectic allies, whether from the cold fusion camp, the
New Energy movement, the adherents of the reborn luminiferous 'aether', or the
Reichian churches of the orgone, were treacherous, petty and stupid - and above all,
extremely unhappy with the prospect of any success on the part of the aetherometric
project. Thus they voted us and our efforts either to systematic distortion or, at best, to
strict silence.
Gene, however, was indeed determined he would leave no stone unturned:
Subject: Notice of Aetherometry Site Sent to Vortex Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 19:30:15 -0400 From: Eugene F. Mallove To: Paulo and Alexandra Correa, Uri Soudak, Malgosia Askanas Dear Paulo, Alex, Malgosia, Uri, Below is my message sent to the Vortex forum. its subject heading was:
IE#38 Einstein Issue; Aetherometry Web Site
I wish to draw special attention to two letters that are published by the Correas in the "Letters of Support" section of the Aetherometry Web Site. One letter is by Uri Soudak, former Chief Technology Officer of Israel Aircraft Industries, who now lives in the United States. The other letter is from me. I am honored to be able to add my observations and comments to those of Uri Soudak on the inspiring scientific and technological work that the Correas have begun. These comments represent MY opinions and observations, based on two visits to their lab (in 2000 and in 2001) and reading their extensive *experimental* studies and theoretical work. I have also examined much of the earlier experimental reports prepared by W. Reich and his colleagues, from which the Correas pioneer vast new ground. No one else now affiliated with our magazine and laboratory has visited the Correa laboratory in Canada. I stand by my conclusions and statements as does Mr. Uri Soudak.
During that period, when others raised the question of whether he had opened the
Aether Motor modules - he confessed he had not. They probably smiled at him as if
predicting that some simple deception was at work - like hidden batteries inside one of
the boxes (amongst others, the suggestion of DeMeo also) - and as if predicting that we
would never let Gene see what was inside those black boxes.
When we patented a plasma system that released energy in excess of breakeven, and
gave open box demonstrations this, somehow, was not enough. We even remember a
US Navy representative asking for a black-box demonstration... But now a black-box
demonstration of the Aether/Orgone motor was, also somehow, not enough for
anybody.
The difference between Gene and these hucksters, fake scientists, miserable cold-
fusioneers, phony and dumb alternative energy researchers, these mystics of the orgone
and the aether, etc, is that he respected us and he trusted us. He understood perfectly
that it was our right to refuse to open those boxes to anyone. The Aether Motor
demonstrations we had given had always been blackbox demonstrations. We had filed
for international patents, and had received notice of allowance for one, and then
changed filing streams altogether - since we did not believe we could support a set of
International Applications. We could have refused to open those boxes - especially
as we had no patent protection for this technology.
But we trusted him. We knew he was not the kind of person who would steal anything
from us or betray our trust, even unwittingly. He was, in fact, the opposite of a
Mocenigo - and we have met plenty of Mocenigo's incarnations. Gene was a very
gentle, playful, kind and perceptive being, a man with a passion for science, for
knowledge, for technology, and for their social and political consequences. If anybody
deserved to know, he did. So, when he came to visit in November of 2001, we
made a video of yet another Aether Motor demonstration and he opened all three circuit
boxes, besides opening the ORACs, and checked all he wanted to check.
Reading from his second Open Letter of Support for Aetherometry,
dated Feb. 20, 2002:
On my last visit (November 15-16, 2001), at which Mr. Uri Soudak was also present, I witnessed some extraordinary new devices. I will describe them below in most general terms, but first let me comment on a significant point in my letter of June 14, 2001. In describing my witnessing of the Aether Motors I wrote: "I have no doubt that you would allow me to open the delicate motor electronics box to examine it fully if I were to visit your laboratory today. However, I do not represent to anyone that I have examined its innards." This examination has now taken place. On my last visit, at my request, you used screwdrivers to remove the plastic covers of all the boxes that could have constituted possible hiding places for secret power supplies. This was merely a pro-forma request for me so that I could testify about it to others. As I expected, there were only conventional electronic components present, no batteries whatsoever, in any of the three boxes that you employed and opened (two of which were identical and only the third absolutely necessary for the motor action).
Those who understand little about it, immediately think that one is creating energy out
of nothing, as if by a miserable miracle, as if it were the First Principle of physics
which was being violated. This false perception is sister to another one - that since we
can demonstrate this Aether Motor, we should give it on a platter, 'for the good of all',
make kits and get rich.
Nothing is that simple, nor is that intelligent. No energy is being created - just
harvested, and the process of harvesting it will also mark the beginning of a revolution
in electrodynamics, thermodynamics and wireless technology that will include the
principles of emitting and capturing massfree energy - much of which is detailed in our
final volume of Experimental Aetherometry that is dedicated to the Aether Motor, as
well as in the chemical and biophysical studies in our Nanometric
Functions of Bioenergy. To spend time producing kits that will give away the basis of
this technology is not the way to develop it, to develop the new electronic components
which are needed and whose embodiments are still raw and can only be attained with
aetherometric research and analytical tools, to take this massfree power technology to
the desired harbour - instead of letting it falter or worse, run the risk of be employed
for malignant purposes.
Gene had at last come to the realization that we would not sacrifice our science for
business expedients. That the science could not be reduced to the antics of ZPE
theories. Either physicists awoke to the realization that most of the energy in the
universe is in a massfree state, or they would continue to wallow in nothing but
science-fiction and more fantastic tales of super-massive Dark Energy and abstruse dimensionalities...

Please help spread the word about this very important science and developing technology by encouraging people to seriously examine our web site and perhaps by subscribing to Infinite Energy magazine. You mentioned some "red flags" about the Correas: "Red flags we watched for were:Though I appreciate the need for skepticism it is inappropriate to judge an extensively published experimental program such as the Correas are engaged in with these flimsy "red flags." That is how cold fusion was and is being judged by mainstream physics and this is completely inappropriate. Virtually all of these "flags" would apply to any new discovery in physics. I suggest you study their web site: www.aetherometry.com On a more recent visit to the Correa lab I looked into the opened box supplyuing the motor. No batteries were seen Best wishes, Dr. Eugene F. Mallove
Each interprets the world according to his or her prejudices, and that is precisely why
continental shifts in knowledge require unprecendented shifts in perception, thought,
sensation, comprehension. Gene had an insatiable thirst to combat ignorance, stupidity
and set ways of looking at phenomena - even at supposedly well known phenomena -
that prevented one from seizing what was new, different, astonishing.
He had a strategy for approaching key media people, and he tried Dr, Guillen before the latter
was dropped from ABC:
Dear Michael, I have just spoken to Laurel about Dr. Paulo and Alexandra Correa of Toronto, Canada and their extraordinary developments, connected with "aether" motors, PAGD (patented, Pulsed Abnormal Glow Discharge devices) electricity generators, and other biophysical stuides. I am sending you the four most recent issues of Infinite Energy, three of which are quite heavy with some of this material (beginning with issue #37 and culminating with #39). (I also enclose the first issue of Infinite Energy (No. 7), which began our coverage of these fine scientists back in 1996.) The advent of their aether motors, my witnessing them, and my own independent confirmation of the Reich-Einstein experiment began the most recent phase of coverage. There is more to come also. I decided to fax you two of my editorials (from IE #37 and #39) to give you part of my perspective. The rest of the material will come via Priority Mail going out later today. [...] Please DO visit their web site www.aetherometry.com to learn much more. As I told Laurel, this is just an exploration, to see if you have further interest. The Correas authorized my contacting you. They have not been avid seekers of publicity -- quite the contrary, which has occasionally frustrated me. However, they are seekers of scientific truth and might wish a larger audience to know about their painstakingly carried out and self-financed scientific work. I think they may well be amenable to having you do a story on this work, but I do not know what they will eventually agree to. With that said, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that if you were to visit their lab and see what I have seen and have testified to (for example in the editorial in Issue #39), you would be convinced that this is legitimate science and thechnology. (In my most recent visit I experienced much more, and was shown the innards of the aether motor circuitry -- there are absolutely no batteries or other potential storage devices within the electronic box. To say that this story would merit coverage by you would be, in the context of what I believe to be valid science, a profound understatement. This story dwarfs in importance anything that has happened in cold fusion/low energy nuclear reactions, and you well know how important that is to me! Enjoy... All good wishes,
Dr. Eugene F. Mallove

> It will no doubt interest you to know that neither Hal Puthoff or I
As far as I know, neither you nor Hal Puthoff have downloaded any of the comprehensive
EXPERIMENTAL and theoretically linked modules of the Correas -- the ones that have nominal charges
for downloading. Have you? Perhaps that is why you don't understand any of it. You haven't read it.
There are compendious electrical and thermal experiments that appear to have have no other explanation
other than an Aether as characterized by the Correas. Per Jed's public request on this forum, as soon as I get some clear time (hah!)_ I'll post some descriptions of the body of the Correa work, in perhaps more understandable terms, to help those not familiar with the Correa work. These comments will come in stages -- not all at once. These are not easy monographs. It is very radical physics, but it is ALL based on experiment, not someone's derivation of a derivation of a derivation on the foundation of relativity or QM, which describes most of what passes for physics today. For now, issue #41 of IE and the following issue #42 (out in late March), describe a commercial Stirling motor run by the heat developed from the aether INSIDE a modified orgone accumulator. See their module AS2-05 "The Thermal Anomaly in ORACS and the Reich-Einstein Experiment: Implications for Blackbody Theory," which proves that the heat (developed *inside* the Faraday cage) is of aether origin. The motor demonstration merely emphasizes the point that a practical application is possible. There are adequate controls described in those papers, but the best "controls" are as given in AS2-05. These Stirling/Hybrid ORAC papers are now posted also on the Correa site [see here, here and here.] The monographs are quite clear about numerous other experiments that defy conventional explanation -- such as with Telsa coils. Yes, theory -- difficult theory -- is developed in parallel. One might wish to read the experiments and ignore the theory for now, then go back and study the theory later. There are many ways to approach this. The Correa effort is superlative scientific work, ready made for confirmation by others who care to read it. Gene Mallove
I know that your science will proceed wherever you intend to be and I do hope to learn more and more from the study of your monographs. The ones you have recently released concerning Tesla coils are most tantalizing. You demonstrate concretely anomalous findings with these coils, findings which show how close that great man came to liberating free energy for us all. And, you appear to have utterly smashed the conventional understandings of light and other EM radiations. I hope that you will be the key researchers who will redeem Tesla's work, which has been effectively buried now for over a century. I will work tirelessly to help you in any way that I can.with these words he finished that second Open Letter of Support for Aetherometry, on Feb. 20, 2002. And until his untimely death, Gene kept to his word - tirelessly pushing the envelope to find any of the possible solutions to the further development of the new science of Aetherometry and all of its technologies, beginning with the Aether Motor. |
